Missionaries and their "New Assignments"

The first thing we do is meet the new missionaries right from the airport. 
They get to eat lunch together at "Spring Creek Barbeque.

They get many hours of orientation and training their first day and a dinner at the mission home. 
A sweet testimony meeting follows dinner where they have the opportunity to talk about why they wanted to come on a mission.

The next day they have a short meeting to say goodbye to some missionaries and hello to new missionaries.  Goodbye to companions and hello to new companions.  The departing missionaries have an opportunity to bear their testimony.

The parking lot is a busy place as luggage, bikes and cars are exchanged.


A nice farewell dinner is prepared for the departing missionaries following their trip to the Houston Temple.  They have their final interviews and a special meeting which includes their testimonies for the last time in the mission field.

We said goodbye to Sister Bowhuis, Thayne, Emily and Katie's friend.  A great missionary!
