Oklahoma! Where the wind comes sweeping down the plains...

We had a wonderful evening with President and Sister Taylor in the Oklahoma City Mission!  They are doing just a tremendous job and the missionaries just love them.  We are related to the Taylors through the Job Welling line!  It was a super hot day.  They have lots of those and a hot wind was fanning the flames of several wild fires while we were there.  We had a nice dinner with them and their family.
President Taylor's father was visiting them and he is Hal's cousin and a great friend in their younger years.  Hal, Richard and Gail had a great time reminising.
We also attended a play where the Taylor's son, Preston, had the lead in "Crazy For You".  He has amazing talent!  After his mission we expect to see him on Broadway!
The next day we were able to drive to Tulsa, Oklahoma to meet with the new Mission President and his wife, President and Sister Shumway.  We were impressed with them right away.  FYI, it was 116 degrees in Tulsa, Oklahoma!
The Tulsa, Oklahoma Mission Home is a stately, large, older home and full of the Spirit.
We felt it was a privilege to be there!
President Shumway and his youngest daughter, Abby.  She came to them from China and is delightful!  They also brought their son, Taylor.  Abby is 12 and Taylor is 15.  They are adjusting to their new life in the mission field and doing very well.
In the backyard of the Mission Home is a beautiful large Oak tree where the squirrels were too hot to do anything but spread out on the limbs and try and cool off!  Sister Shumway said she sees this quite often.  We can just imagine how the missionaries must feel in this kind of heat!
